Breaking Wind

Stagnation occurs when something remains significantly motionless for an extended period of time.

This can be hazardous to your health. If it's water; this is an ideal condition for bacteria to grow. Mosquitoes lay their eggs in the dormant waters to ensure hatching. If air stays silent it can cause a build up in air pollution and toxic gasses.

Then of course there is me. And there is you. And no I'm not going in the toxic gas direction. I would like to see us breaking wind in ways that aren't offensive to our friends and neighbors. We as people have been given a limited time on the planet and oddly enough it's just enough time to create a stagnation situation. You see even when stagnation occurs, though quite still, there is still something going on under the surface that can be catastrophic if left to it's own devices.

We could very easily go about the business of our daily lives without ever making a difference in someone else' s life. Essentially we are just polluting the planet. I don't think Jesus had it in mind for life to be just about me or just about you. If we are not concerned about being in community; if we only care about what happens on the little planet that we call "me": no winds of change will be stirred. In other words we need to break wind! Yes. We need to put things in motion to effect change.

Sure we could take this time to dialog on the benefits of "Green Living". If our concern is only for the planet and not our neighbors on it then we've missed the point of Gods creation. It's not about me (what?) or you. It's about us. If we LOVE our neighbor as we LOVE ourselves and we're concerned about their hurts and their needs, hopefully we will all living for one another.

I'm justtrent and those are my thoughts for today.

But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven. For he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and the unjust alike. If you love only those who love you, what reward is there for that? Even corrupt tax collectors do that much. If you are kind only to your friends, how are you different from anyone else? Even pagans do that.
